Cin I, Cin II, Cin III means cervical intraepithelial neoplasia. In other words, it means that there is first, second and third degree deterioration in the cells of the mucosal membrane covering the cervix. This deterioration does not mean that there is cancer. Therefore, when the Cin I, Cin II, Cin III result comes, a re-evaluation, taking a sample, if necessary, with more advanced methods, a method called conization, wide removal of that area, or hysterectomy, removal of the uterus, may be needed. Essentially, the Cin I, Cin II, Cin III evaluation is an old evaluation system. Instead, gynecology oncologists and pathologists today use the terms ASC US, LGSIL (Low Grade Cervical Intraepithelial Lesion) or HGSIL (High Grade Cervical Intraepithelial Lesion) in evaluation.
